Community & Social Development

Community and Social Development strengthens the quality of life in our community through the development of locally driven, preventative, educational and social initiatives to enhance the well-being of individuals, families, youth, and the community.

  • Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is a unique 80/20 funding partnership between the province, municipalities and Metis Settlements that develops local driven preventive social initiatives to enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and communities. Provincially, the FCSS Program receives its mandate for the FCSS Act and Regulations pursuant to that act.
  • Social Development involves long-term planning focusing on investing in people, the environment, and social systems with a strong emphasis on equity, diversity and inclusion.
  • Chantal Bérubé Community Youth Centre (CBYC) is a drop-in centre for youth aged 12-17. It’s a supervised and safe environment where youth can socialize with peers, participate in a variety of engaging activities, build meaningful relationships with adults, and access mental health and other social support resources.
  • Beaumont Child Care Services provides care for 138 children (aged 0-11 years) through the Early Learning Child Care and School Aged Site. These programs provide Early Childhood Development resources and support to children, families, Early Childhood Educators, and the community.
