Mayor & Council

Bill Daneluik moved from Saskatoon to Beaumont with his wife Darlene and their 3 children, Jordan, Gabbie and Thomas in 2006. The idea of raising their children in a small community while being close to a larger centre was very appealing. Beaumont did and continues to deliver a great family experience.

Bill is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan with a degree in Political Science and History. Bill’s working career has included 3 years in general insurance, 8 years in radio sales and over 25 years in the employee benefits field working on both the client and the insurer side of the business. He was recently employee as an Account Executive with Alberta Blue Cross before leaving that position to become Beaumont’s fulltime Mayor.

Bill has spent many years coaching hockey and managing teams in Beaumont when their youngest son played hockey.

Since joining Council in 2017 as a first-time Councillor and now as Mayor in 2021, Bill has and will continue to devote himself to his duties and responsibilities and takes great pride in his role as your Mayor.

In addition to his duties as Mayor, Bill has been heavily involved in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board where he currently serves as the Chair of the Governance & Human Resources Committee, Edmonton Global where he currently serves as Vice Chair of the Shareholder’s Group, the Mid-sized Cities Mayor’s Caucus and is also the immediate Past Chair of the Capital Region Southwest Water Services Commission.

As Mayor, Bill has continued with his regular “Coffee With Your Mayor” sessions to interact with residents and conducts Town Hall meetings twice a year to further engage with residents.

Bill has also created the Mayor Bill’s Charity Golf Classic which has raised $70,000 in the first 2 years for local Beaumont Charities that will directly benefit residents of Beaumont.

The Mayor loves to play golf and he and his wife Darlene are avid travellers and campers.

Philip is committed to community service and has worked wherever he has lived to develop and sustain neighbourhoods that are nurturing, inclusive, and diverse. His experience includes frontline service with youth-at-risk, elder-care, environmental and anti-poverty initiatives as well as various planning committees and governing boards of both faith-based and secular organizations.

Raised in small-town Alberta (Strathmore), Philip was thrilled to return to that familiar feel upon settling in Beaumont (2011) after years spent pursuing various learning opportunities. He completed a Bachelor of Arts at Augustana Faculty. His education has also included stops in Edmonton, Moncton, Winnipeg, and Saskatoon – where he received his Master of Divinity in 2011.

Philip is grateful to the countless communities that have nurtured and guided his growth as a servant leader. He believes good government strikes a dynamic balance between inspired leadership and meaningful consultation with all stakeholders in a way that prioritizes generational sustainability.

Since 2021, Philip has embraced the role of stay-at-home dad to Zephyra, Josiah, and Solomon in support of his partner, Tessa, and her role as a local family-physician. Whether you see him at the Community Centre or, a local pub; in the park or at the library, Philip hopes you will take the time to say hello and share what is on your heart.

“There are no problems in front of us that we do not also have the solutions to if we are curious and communicating.”
