[ARCHIVED] Emergency Water Shut Down at 1:00PM

Water Shutdown

Final Update:

Water has been restored to Seeds and Sprouts, Anytime Fitness, and Bake my Day.  Seeds and Sprouts and Bake my Day were restored at 2:00 pm and Anytime Fitness was restored at 2:30 pm.  Thanks for everyone’s patience on the matter.  Public Works will continue to work with the contractor on the ultimate repair of the underground system.  We don’t expect anymore delays to the water service in the areas.

UPDATE:

Water has not been restored to the below businesses.

Water was scheduled to be returned to service by the end of the day yesterday (Oct 23). Public Works was notified at 7:30 pm last night that this did not occur as more repairs were required.

Please note that the water pipe infrastructure under repair is private infrastructure. Town Public Works staff is working with the contractor to restore water service to the businesses as soon as possible.

This morning, Town Public Works staff assisted the contractor to install a temporary water line to service the businesses from an adjacent hydrant on 30 Ave. The contractor estimates that the repairs will be completed and service returned back to normal by 12:00 pm today.

The business owners impacted by this shutdown have been informed.

The water service to  Seeds and Sprouts Early Learning Centre, Anytime Fitness Beaumont, and Bake My Day was shut down at 1:00 pm this afternoon. The contractor at the 6204 29 Ave development had a construction issue this morning that has prompted a shutdown. The contractor working onsite will be investigating the cause of the issue right away.  To allow the contractor to investigate the issue, we have shut valves that will interrupt water service to the above businesses. We currently do not have an estimated time of restoration. We will update the estimated timelines of water restoration once the contractor’s investigation is complete and the issue is located.
