2019 Beaumont Census Starts May 1, 2019
BEAUMONT, ALBERTA- The City of Beaumont’s 2019 Municipal Census begins May 1, 2019.
Beginning May 1, residents will have door knockers delivered to their households with a unique Personal Identification Number (PIN) as well as instructions for completing the census online. Starting May 15, Census Workers will be visiting households that did not participate online to collect the census information.
For each resident counted, the City earns approximately $257 in provincial and federal grant funding. Census information also assists the City of Beaumont in making decisions impacting the community, including infrastructure, recreation, and social programs.
“I encourage all residents of Beaumont to participate in the 2019 Municipal Census”, says Mayor John Stewart. “Participation is important as Beaumont receives grant dollars from the provincial and federal governments for every resident counted. Further, Council utilizes the census data to understand demographics and to make decisions on the programs and services our population requires.”
Beaumont’s population continues to grow, with the 2018 Municipal Census reporting a population of 18,829, a 2.8% increase over the 2017 population of 18,320. Beaumont’s population grew by 509 people.
