Beaumont Chief Administrative Officer Taking on New Challenges


Beaumont, AB - Marc Landry has announced his resignation as Chief Administrative Officer

(CAO) of Beaumont, Alberta to accept the position of City Manager with Moncton, New Brunswick.


“It has been a privilege to work with a great team of elected officials, staff and residents of the community,” Landry said. “I’m looking forward to seeing Beaumont continue to grow and continue to be a leader in the Edmonton Capital Region, as well as the country at large.”

Landry was hired as Beaumont CAO in January 2008. Since then, Beaumont’s population has more than doubled and it is now the 7th fastest-growing community in Canada.  

“Moncton is very fortunate to have recruited Marc to lead their organization,” said Beaumont Mayor Camille Bérubé. “It has been a privilege working with him these past nine years. He has been instrumental in establishing a strong organizational and strategic planning framework, which will benefit the community moving forward. Marc worked very well with elected officials to establish strong partnerships with the other levels of government, resulting in additional funding to complete a number of projects and initiatives. We wish Marc great success with this career move.”


Several important projects were completed during this time, including a new police detachment, aquatic and fitness recreation facility, new joint school partnership, community centre, the downtown redevelopment, and the annexation initiative. Landry was also instrumental in establishing strong relationships with the provincial and federal governments, which secured a number of grants and additional funding opportunities for Beaumont.  


Beaumont received international recognition for its partnership project in Cambodia, which was coordinated by Landry. He also worked and led several projects and initiatives to ensure that Beaumont will continue growing into the future.  


Mr. Landry assumes his new duties on April 18, 2017 and will be responsible for overseeing the City of Moncton’s $200 million budget and 800 employees.

Mayor Bérubé and Council will be working with Beaumont’s Human Resources department on the process of recruiting the next CAO.
