Staff Sergeant Harpreet Dhaliwal has been named the new Detachment Commander for Beaumont Detachment, and is expected to take up his position in the early new year. Superintendent Gord Stewart, Acting District Commander for Central Alberta District is pleased to make this announcement in concert with the City of Beaumont.
Harp has spent 19 of his 23 years’ with the RCMP serving the province of Alberta. His background includes posts in Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET), Calgary Criminal Intelligence Unit, VIP and Protective Services and most recently his position as the Detachment Commander of Breton/Thorsby Detachments. Staff Sergeant Dhaliwal has been part of the Beaumont community since 2016. He both lives within the community and acted in a Detachment Commander role in Beaumont from April 2016 to February 2018.
Staff Sergeant Dhaliwal is excited to once again serve the Beaumont community and take on this command position permanently. He will provide a continued focus on crime reduction and community engagement and build on the strong connections he has already established.
Superintendent Gord Stewart takes this opportunity to thank (Ret) Staff Sergeant Jeff Egan who was Detachment Commander since 2017 and provided strong leadership and commitment to both the Detachment and the community.
