On March 14, 2021 the Beaumont General Investigation Section (GIS) Unit executed a search warrant in the City of Beaumont with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team, Leduc Detachment, CAD CRU, and Edmonton RCMP GIS. Recovered during the search was two replica firearms, one loaded prohibited firearm, one stolen firearm, a prohibited pistol magazine, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, as well as other stolen property.
Nicholas Morgan Anderson-Kootenay (25) and Taylor Jean Fleming (22), both of Beaumont and Jacob Tyler Lien (24) of St. Albert are each facing over 20 criminal charges including possession of a firearm obtained by crime, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of stolen property, and fail to comply with a release condition.
Following judicial interim release hearings, Anderson-Kootenay and Lien were remanded in custody. Both are scheduled to attend court in Leduc on March 18. Fleming has been released from custody and is scheduled to attend court in Leduc on April 8.
The Beaumont RCMP GIS reports continued successful outcomes with investigations into stolen property and firearms. To date, in 2021, this is the third search warrant executed by the Beaumont GIS that has resulted in the seizure of a firearm. Public tips and information about illegal or suspicious activity within Beaumont is an important component in community safety.
