The Council of the City of Beaumont, at their regular council meeting on April 13, 2021, will give consideration to passing a resolution to establish a Regional Waste Management Commission for the Leduc and District Regional Waste Management Authority, of which the City of Beaumont would be one of five initial municipal members. The municipal councils of the cities of Leduc and Beaumont, the towns of Calmar and Devon, and Leduc County, are all anticipated to consider a similar resolution confirming their desire to form a Regional Waste Management Commission jointly with the others.
Note that the resolution to be considered by council on April 13, 2021 is related to a resolution passed on May 14, 2019 confirming the City’s support of the move of the Leduc and District Regional Waste Management Authority towards a commission governance structure. The resolution on April 13, 2021 is to ensure compliance with new procedural requirements that came into effect on September 1, 2020.
Copies of both the resolution to be considered on April 13, 2021 and the resolution passed on May 14, 2019 can be found in the agenda package of the April 13, 2021 Council meeting on the City’s website http://beaumontab.civicweb.net/portal
