[ARCHIVED] Week in review Beaumont RCMP May 24 - 30, 2021

For the week of May 24 through May 30, 2021, the Beaumont RCMP responded to 45 calls for service. Some of the calls for service included fail to stop or remain at accident scene, assault, false alarms, items lost/found, mental health act, municipal bylaws, suspicious persons/vehicles, traffic collisions, breach of peace and mischief.

The Beaumont RCMP conducted 30 traffic stops, resulting in three charges under the Traffic Safety Act.

Asphalt paving fraud scams continue across Alberta by various different individuals and businesses. The Consumer Investigations Unit is warning Albertans about unscrupulous asphalt paving companies currently travelling throughout Alberta that commonly target residential, commercial, farming residents in small towns and rural communities. If you suspect a paving contractor is contravening Alberta’s consumer protection laws, or is avoiding work commitments, report it at 1-877-427-4088 (toll-free). (This information is provided by Service Alberta's Consumer Investigation Unit.)

Beaumont RCMP is warning the public and business owners of organized crime groups working in the area that are involved in fake gold scams, distraction thefts, organized shoplifting, and banking card theft/fraud. Please report all fraud and cybercrime to the Canadian Anti-Fraud centre at 1-888-495-8501 or on-line:

RCMP Crime Reduction calendar for June focuses on theft of off-highway vehicles. Please secure your quads, dirt bikes and trailers. During your 9 p.m. routine, include checking that all of your off-highway vehicles are also secure. Beaumont RCMP will be holding a virtual town hall on June 17, 2021 at 7 p.m. Watch for more information to come in the next few weeks. The public will be provided a link to participate in the town hall.
