[ARCHIVED] PSA: Beaumont recreational facilities to follow provincial restriction exemption program

UPDATE: As a result of continued consultation with the Alberta government and clarification on details of the province's restriction exemption program, the City of Beaumont updated access requirements for all recreation facilities effective Monday evening, September 20. Find updated information here.

September 17, 2021

In order to continue to provide as many services as possible to residents, Beaumont City Council decided this afternoon to adopt the Government of Alberta’s restriction exemption program for the Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre, Beaumont Community Centre, and the Ken Nichol Regional Recreation Centre.

Starting Monday, September 20, all guests 12 or older will be asked to provide:

  • proof of vaccination;
  • documentation of a medical exemption; or
  • a privately-obtained COVID test showing a negative result in the last 72 hours.

Guests ages 18+ will also be asked to provide a photo ID. Proof of one dose will be accepted until October 25, if the dose was given more than two weeks before the time of entry. After October 25, proof of two doses will be required.

We appreciate Beaumontians’ patience and respect as we comply with provincial measures to ensure everyone’s health and safety. All users of recreational facilities should plan to arrive for their activities a little earlier than normal in order to facilitate the screening procedures.

Visit the Government of Alberta website to learn more about the program and the current restrictions, and visit the City of Beaumont COVID-19 updates page for further information on accessing City facilities.
