On October 1, 2021, Beaumont RCMP General Investigation Section, with the assistance of the Beaumont RCMP Detachment members, executed a search warrant at a residence in the City of Beaumont.
As a result of the search warrant, Beaumont RCMP seized approximately 2,900 prescription pills and more than 1.5 litres of codeine cough syrup.
Police have reason to believe the individual was selling these drugs locally within the community and shipping them within and outside of Canada.
As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old youth from Beaumont has been charged with:
- trafficking in a controlled substance x 4

- possession of a controlled substance
- possession of proceeds of crime
The youth was released from custody on conditions to attend Leduc Provincial Court on December 10, 2021. In accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the name of the youth charged will not be released.
As this matter is now before the courts, no further information can be released.
