PSA: Construction continues on 50 Street, Coloniale Way

Traffic disruptions will continue for several more weeks as the developer of the new Le Rêve neighbourhood development in Beaumont’s northeast corner works to connect underground utilities.

Originally, construction on 50 Street and Coloniale Way was scheduled to be completed by October 25. The contractor has now revised their estimated end date to late November. The construction on Township Road 510 has been completed as planned.

Construction timelines can vary due to a number of factors, including weather and complexities with connecting new infrastructure. We appreciate everyone’s patience with the traffic disruptions for a few more weeks. City staff continue to work with the contractor and developer to have the roads reopened as soon as possible. The developer is responsible for construction expenses and repairs to the City’s infrastructure. The City will be monitoring the work to ensure it meets our standards.

The updated information about construction is as follows:

  • 50 Street: From October 4 to approximately the third week of November, traffic on 50 Street will be reduced to one lane each direction. Access to the commercial area on the west side of 50 Street will remain open.
  • Coloniale Way: From October 6 to approximately the third week of November, Coloniale Way westbound will be closed due to construction at the intersection with 50 Street. To access 50 Street, turn south at the four-way stop onto Rue Bouchard. Turn west onto 55 Avenue until 50 Street.

As a courtesy, the City of Beaumont has provided a Google map outlining the traffic disruptions

Park-Aid Asphalt and Maintenance Ltd., the contractor that is doing the construction, will provide detour signage as well as direct communication to organizations and residents located immediately adjacent to this construction.

Residents and businesses with questions should direct them to the project manager of this construction:
