NewsRelease

Beaumont AB – Mayor Camille Bérubé today announced that Mike Schwirtz has been hired as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Beaumont, Alberta.

“After a thorough and detailed hiring process, I am pleased to announce that Mr. Schwirtz has accepted the position of CAO,” says Mayor Camille Bérubé. “Mr. Schwirtz brings a great deal of recent, relevant experience to the position so we are excited to welcome him on board.”

Mr. Schwirtz comes to Beaumont from Hinton, Alberta where he has been CAO since 2014. Prior to that, he served as director of Infrastructure Services and as acting director of Planning and Development. Mike also has 12 years’ experience in the human resources management world prior to embarking on his municipal career.

“I’m excited about working with the residents, elected officials and staff in Beaumont,” Mr. Schwirtz says. “I’m looking forward to seeing Beaumont continue to grow, to build on the many successes and opportunities that abound in the community, and for Beaumont to continue to be a leader in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region, as well as the province at large.”

Whether it be at work or in his free time, Mike enjoys finding and meeting new challenges. With a history of competitive sports and hobbies, striving to be the best is a core facet of his personality.
