BYLAW NUMBER 1008-22 - OFF-SITE LEVY AMENDING BYLAW 945-19
The Council of the City of Beaumont is holding a Non-Statutory Public Hearing to hear feedback on Bylaw 1008-22 to amend Bylaw 945-19 Off-site Levy Bylaw. The Non-Statutory Public Hearing is to be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. and may be viewed at www.youtube.com/c/BeaumontAbCaT4X.
Off-site levies are a tool that a municipality can use to pay for new infrastructure, or the expansion of existing infrastructure required because of development, and must be adopted by bylaw. The City is considering amending the Off-site Levy Bylaw to improve the legibility and to clarify the intent of the Off Site Levy Development Area Map, and to remove an incorrect clause on how Council can amend the Bylaw.
Any person who wishes to present to Council during the non-statutory public hearing must pre-register with the City Clerk’s Office, city.clerk@beaumont.ab.ca or 780-929-1352, before 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. Written submissions may be provided to the City Clerk’s Office at 5600 49 Street, Beaumont AB T4X 1A1 or via email, clearly labelled “Re: Off-site Levy Amending Bylaw Public Hearing.” Submissions received by 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, will be included in the agenda package. Submissions received after this date will be read into the public record prior to any oral presentations.
The personal information in submissions is collected under the authority of the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, S. 33(c) for the purpose of public participation in decision making. It will be publicly available in accordance with S. 40(1) of the Act.
The proposed bylaw will be available in the agenda package of the February 22, 2022, Council Meeting at https://beaumontab.civicweb.net/portal/.
