Beaumont residents will see a change coming soon to their inboxes and mailboxes, as 2022 property assessment notices will be sent on February 23. Previously, property owners received a combined assessment and taxation notice. Going forward, assessment notices will be sent in late winter, and property tax bills sent in spring. The City of Beaumont made this change to ensure assessment information is clearly separated from tax information and to give extra time for property owners to address any concerns with their assessment values.
An assessment notice lays out the assessed value that is used to calculate each property owner’s fair share of taxes. Your assessment notice shows your property assessment value based on its market value as of July 1, 2021.
All Beaumont property owners should review their assessment notices, including their property’s assessed value. If you do not receive a notice shortly after February 23, or you have comments or questions for the assessor, contact City staff at 780-929-3306 or taxes@beaumont.ab.ca.
