Week in review Beaumont RCMP April 4-10, 2022

For the week of April 4 through April 10, 2022 the Beaumont RCMP responded to 49 calls for service. Some of the calls for service included: 911 calls, assault, assistance to Canadian police (non-RCMP) agency, failure to comply, false alarms, Fire Prevention Act, fraud, harassing communications, indecent act, items lost/found, Liquor Act, Mental Health Act, mischief-damage to property, motor vehicle insurance coverage, impaired-alcohol, moving traffic, other moving and non-moving traffic, sexual assault, sexual interference, suspicious person/vehicle, theft under or equal $5,000 from a motor vehicle, traffic collisions, Trespass Act, uttering threats and wellbeing checks.

The Beaumont RCMP conducted 26 traffic stops, resulting in four charges and three warnings under the Traffic Safety Act.

Please be on the lookout for suspicious activity around vehicles. The RCMP is getting numerous complaints of stolen catalytic convertors. On average, it can take less then one minute to steal a catalytic convertor. For your safety, do not engage the suspects. Instead, call 911.

April is Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) month. Please visit beaumont.ab.ca/266 for CPTED tips.

Beaumont residents are encouraged to view the RCMP Crime Mapping tool and can access the map at https://www.beaumont.ab.ca/532/Beaumont-RCMP-Crime-Map.

The Beaumont RCMP encourages the public to report all criminal and suspicious activity. In case of an emergency, call 911. For non-urgent reports, call the Beaumont RCMP Detachment complaint line at 780-929-7400. Your report helps us know where to look, who to look for and where to patrol in the future.
