[ARCHIVED] CITY OF BEAUMONT – NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BYLAW 1015-22 LAKEVIEW AREA STRUCTURE PLAN AMENDMENT

The Council of the City of Beaumont is holding a Public Hearing for Bylaw 1015-22 to amend the Lakeview Area Structure Plan. The Public Hearing is to be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Beaumont Administration Office, located at 5600 49 Street, Beaumont. It may also be viewed at www.youtube.com/c/BeaumontAbCaT4X.

An Area Structure Plan is a statutory plan that provides the planning, transportation and servicing framework for a new neighbourhood. The proposed Area Structure Plan amendment is intended to allow for a more efficient layout and better neighbourhood connections, for housing types that are consistent with the current City of Beaumont Land Use Bylaw, and for a more functional school site.

Any person who wishes to present to Council during the public hearing must pre-register with the City Clerk’s Office, city.clerk@beaumont.ab.ca or 780-929-1352, before 12:00 noon on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. Written submissions may be provided to the City Clerk’s Office at 5600 49 Street, Beaumont AB T4X 1A1 or via email, clearly labelled “Re: Lakeview Public Hearings.” Submissions received by 12:00 noon on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 will be included in the agenda package. Submissions received after this date will be read into the public record prior to any oral presentations. 

The personal information in submissions is collected under the authority of the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, S. 33(c) for the purpose of public participation in decision making. It will be publicly available in accordance with S. 40(1) of the Act. The bylaw will be available in the agenda package of the June 28, 2022 Council Meeting at https://beaumontab.civicweb.net/portal/.

Procedure at the Public Hearing:

  1. Administration will present the purpose and effect of the proposed bylaw.
  2. Council will hear:
    • any person or group of persons acting on their behalf who claim to be affected by the proposed bylaw and have registered to make a presentation;
    • any other person who has registered to make a presentation and whom Council agrees to hear.
