Beaumont, AB – Mike Schwirtz, CAO of the Town of Beaumont, Alberta is pleased to announce that Eleanor Mohammed, MCIP, RPP, MTCP, HBA Env. Mgmt., EP, has been appointed to the position of General Manager of Planning and Infrastructure.
Eleanor previously served as Director of Planning and Engineering with Beaumont. Now, she assumes the top position in that department, where she will lead Beaumont’s planning, development, engineering, infrastructure and economic development activities.
With over thirteen years of public and private sector experience, Eleanor has worked for the Land Use Secretariat at the Government of Alberta; Stantec Consulting Ltd.; and Leduc County. She has led a variety of provincial and municipal projects including the preparation of statutory documents, policy and guideline development, stakeholder engagement, subdivision management, and environmental planning.
Eleanor has served as the President of the Alberta Professional Planners Institute and is highly experienced in organizational governance, communications, and proactive strategy development. Eleanor holds a Master of Arts with Distinction in Town and Country Planning from the University of the West of England, Bristol, U.K.; and has an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto with a specialization in Environmental Management.
