1. What is the Beaumont Transit schedule?

Beaumont’s commuter transit service operates at peak morning and afternoon times from the Ken Nichol Regional Recreation Centre (KNRRC) in Beaumont to the Mill Woods Transit Centre, and back. The full schedule and corresponding updates can be found HERE.

Beaumont (and surrounding regions) currently use the Transit App. For real time updates, schedules, and to plan trips across the region, download Transit App today (available for Apple and Android operating systems).

2. Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets are available during the regular business hours at:

• Beaumont City Office
• Beaumont Sports and Recreation Centre

3. How much is the fare?

Special Considerations: 

• ETS fare must be paid in order to get from Heritage Valley to your final destination. 
• Beaumont Transit now currently accepts U-pass 
• In the near future Beaumont will be a part of the ARC Program

4. Can I pay cash? Debit card? Credit card?

You can pay your fare on the bus with cash. You cannot use a debit or credit card on the bus. You can purchase tickets and 10-packs at the locations listed HERE using cash, debit or credit card. 

5. Where can I catch the Beaumont Transit bus?

The Beaumont 540 bus route leaves from the Ken Nichol Recreation Centre and travels to the Mill Woods Transit Centre. There are also return trips from Mill Woods Transit Centre to Ken Nichol. See the full schedule HERE.

7. Can I take my bike on the bus?

Unfortunately, bikes are not permitted on the bus because it travels on a highway.

8. Can I take a stroller on the bus?

Yes, strollers are permitted on the bus.

9. Are the busses wheelchair accessible?

Yes, they are wheelchair accessible.

10. Can my business advertise on the buses?

Yes. Ad space and sponsorship opportunities are available. Please contact the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce at (780) 986-5454 for more information.

11. Does Beaumont own the buses? Who provides the service?

The three New Flyer Excelsior coaches are owned by Beaumont and are branded Beaumont Transit. Two buses will be in operation at any one time, with the third bus as a backup. The buses will be rotated through the schedule so that all the buses are used equally. The buses will be used by Beaumont Transit exclusively. 

Beaumont has contracted PWTranist Canada to provide the drivers, maintenance and storage of the buses.  After consulting with other regional transit providers, PWT was deemed to be the best option for providing bus service to Beaumont. There are several reasons:

• Experienced and fully trained drivers and staff.
• Excellent safety record.
• Infrastructure for maintaining and storing buses already in place.
• Same makes of buses so the maintenance will be cost effective.
• Good integration with the ETS service.

12. What is the longer term plan for transit in Beaumont?

The buses will operate in the morning and afternoon at peak times. As ridership increases, additional trips per day may be added. Additional bus stops within Beaumont may be added also.  

Beaumont is a growing community and having a commuter transit service is the first step in ensuring full mobility for students, workers and residents of all ages. Transit provides a safe and efficient transportation alternative for all resident of Beaumont and for those who commute to Beaumont for work. We will be a part of the ARC program, and we are currently looking into the need for an On-Demand Transit Service.
