Process to apply for a Road Use Agreement

  • Applicant fills out the Road Use Agreement Application Form and provides a map with the haul route
  • Effective March 1, 2024, all applications will require payment of Application Fee $25 + GST as per City of Beaumont Bylaw #1041-23
  • A “COB Receipt of Payment” must be included with all applications.
  • The complete package which includes the application and COB Receipt of Payment should be forwarded to engineering@beaumont.ab.ca
  • Fees can be paid at City Hall Reception Counter at 5600 49 St, Beaumont or with a credit card via phone, contact 780-929-8782 ext 0
  • City of Beaumont will process the application within five (5) business days
  • The Applicant is required to provide security as determined by the City of Beaumont
  • A pre-inspection between the Applicant and Beaumont is required prior to commencement of hauling
  • A post-inspection between the Applicant and Beaumont is required once hauling has been completed

Written approval is to be granted prior to any travel lane or sidewalk being closed (partially or fully) due to construction activities. All City of Beaumont rules, regulations and guidelines are to be followed by all contractors.

An application and all necessary supporting document must be submitted to Engineering Services 5 business days in advance for local residential roads and 15 business days in advance for arterial and collector roads.  A Traffic / Pedestrian Accommodation Plan (TAP) showing all proposed signage is required.

Effective March 1, 2024, a fee of $50 plus GST**per permit is required as per City of Beaumont Bylaw #1041-23.

**Please note that fee waivers may be considered for non-profit or charitable group applicants.

  • The complete package, consisting of the completed application form, TAP and COB Receipt of Payments should be forwarded to engineering@beaumont.ab.ca
    • Fees can be paid at City Hall Reception counter at 5600 49th Street, Beaumont or with a credit card via phone, contact 780.929-8782 ext 0 City Hall Business Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 am to noon and 1 to 4:30 pm (except Holidays)

Road bans are in effect (as of March 15, 2021) all year in Beaumont. Any road usage within the City of Beaumont limits requires a Road Use Agreement (RUA), contact Engineering at engineering@beaumont.ab.ca to apply.
