Government City Administration & Departments
The City of Beaumont’s administrative structure has multiple departments and service areas. You’ll find the departments listed with their contact information and areas of responsibilities.
The Communications department oversees any and all communication and media relations for the City of Beaumont. The goal is to inform the community and keep residents up-to-date on all events, initiatives, public engagements and much more.

Community Services strengthens the quality of life in our community through social initiatives that support the wellbeing of seniors, families, youth and the community. This department also plans and delivers all recreational opportunities in Beaumont, including fitness, sport, aquatic, art, and community programs for adults and kids, as well as annual events.

Community and Social Development involves long-term planning focusing on investing in people, the environment, and social systems with a strong emphasis on equity, diversity and inclusion.
Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) develops locally driven preventive social initiatives to enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
Chantal Bérubé Community Youth Centre (CBYC) is a drop-in centre for youth aged 12-17. It’s a supervised and safe environment where youth can socialize with peers, participate in a variety of engaging activities, build meaningful relationships with adults, and access mental health and other social support resources.
Beaumont Child Care Services provides care for over a hundred children (aged 0-11 years) through the Early Learning Child Care and School Aged Site.
Recreation offers indoor and outdoor recreation opportunities for all ages via multiple facilities (and parks) in Beaumont.
Corporate Analytics and Technology is responsible for maintaining the City’s hardware, software, data and asset management and providing tech-based solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of services and programs delivered to residents and businesses.
The Economic Development department manages all things business and local economy in Beaumont. Economic development in Beaumont means a community-centered process blending social and economic development to improve and support the well-being of the community.
The Economic Development department works with local businesses, developers, and regional partners to grow Beaumont and the services available to its citizens.

The Finance division has two main areas:
The Accounting department processes tax notices and utility payments, pays supplier invoices (accounts payable) and does payroll for the City.
The Financial Services department prepares annual budgets and financial statements, as well as sets the annual rates for property taxes and utilities (water, sewer and garbage collection).

Residents can send concerns or questions online, any time of day, through the service request portal.
LLS guides the legislated municipal requirements, supports Mayor and Council and the various boards and committees associated with the City. Bylaws and policies, elections, requests from the public (like FOIP) and the census are all part of how LLS contributes to Beaumont.

Human Resources (through job recruitment) makes up most of the People Services department, and is the face of this department when interacting with residents. People Services also includes a Health & Safety team.
The Planning and Development department is responsible for the orderly and sustainable growth of the City while understanding the values of the community to reflect those values into our plans, policies and bylaws for the immediate and future development of the City.
Development is a community-centered process to foster economic, social, ecological and cultural well-being. Planning develops and implements plans, policies and bylaws to reflect the vision of the City and the values of community. The department offers the following programs:
