Brown Bag Yard Waste Collection happens annually in the spring and is part of the full collection schedule. Please take note of the zones/timelines for each zone.

Our waste contractor will pick up yard waste contained in compostable brown bags. If you’re unable to make the pickup schedule, jump down to the Yard Waste & Landfill information.

NOTE: There are no limits on Brown Bag Collection

Did you know that we have yard waste collection bins for residents at the Operations Facility (24130 Township Road 510) available for specific days every week during the heaviest spring and fall yard clean-up time?

Every year Infrastructure provides large bins for residents to drop off additional yard waste. You will be able to bring your yard waste during the following schedule:

• Spring 2025: April 14 – June 27 from 1 to 4 pm, Monday to Friday*
• Fall 2025: September 8 – October 31 from 1 to 4 pm, Monday to Friday*

*CLOSED ON STAT HOLIDAYS

Permitted items:

• Grass clippings
• Weeds and plants
• Compost
• Leaves
• Mulch
• Etc.

If you need clarification about an item you believe would be classified as yard waste but are not 100% certain, please contact our Infrastructure team at 780-929-4306.

Leduc Yard Waste Transfer Station

If you are not able to make it to our facility during the designated times, as a resident of Beaumont you are able to dispose of extra waste at the Leduc & District Waste Management Facility free of charge. Residents are permitted to dispose of an extra 1 tonne (1000 kgs) of household waste per year at the facility. You can also bring yard waste to the Yard Waste Transfer Station in Leduc.

The City of Beaumont offers a curbside collection of large items in the spring.

Outside the collection dates, you can:

• Take the materials to the Leduc and District Regional Waste Management Facility, free of charge. If you do not already have a member card, be sure to bring proof of Beaumont residency so you can obtain one.
• The Materials Recovery Facility at the Leduc Landfill allows individuals to drop off items that may be reused by another family. Drop these items off for free, and you might find something to take home in return.

Curbside collection notes

• Limit of two (2) items per household
• Leave items at the curbside with your other garbage by 7 am on your regular garbage collection day and we will haul them away for you. Items may be collected by different trucks.
• Houses with back alleys must have large items put out at the front of your property for collection.
• Put a note on items (basketball and hockey nets, lawnmowers, wheelbarrows, rain barrels, bicycles, etc.) to help identify them as being out for pickup.
• All items must be less than six feet by three feet (1.8 metres x 0.9 metres) and weigh less than 200 lbs (90 kg).

Acceptable items

White-block styrofoam is accepted at the Eco Station in Leduc for recycling.

This service enhancement allows residents to drop off limited quantities of styrofoam at the Eco Station for free during regular hours of operation. A mobile processing unit that uses new technology collects the styrofoam from the Eco Station one or two times per month. For full details, check out Leduc’s Eco Station announcement.
