Utilities

Your utility bill consists of the following:

  • Water: flat meter rate (based on the size of your water meter) plus a variable fee based on consumption.
  • Sewer treatment: a flat fee plus a variable fee based on consumption
  • Curbside collection: a flat fee

The City bills every 2 months and mails them out in: January, March, May, July, September, November.

The City of Beaumont does not provide natural gas or electricity. You will need to set up separate accounts with a third party for those services. See the Utilities Consumer Advocate site for providers.

NOTE: Please allow 1 week for waste carts to be delivered (carts are delivered on your next available collection day), but give as much notice as possible to avoid delays.

Pet licensing

Licences allow lost pets to get back home easier. All dogs and cats 6 months or older that reside in Beaumont must have a valid animal licence and tags. The fine for failing to obtain a licence is $250 and the fine for failing to display a tag is $100.

A total of four pets are allowed per household (with a limit of three each of either cats or dogs).

Moving container permits

Are you using moving containers to move into your new home? If they’re placed on the road, you need to apply for an encroachment permit.
