“Today, December 10, is Human Rights Day. This day marks the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and reminds us that every person is entitled to the same rights and freedoms, regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

Human Rights Day gives us an opportunity to acknowledge the progress we’ve made while also recognizing the challenges that still exist around the world. It reminds us of the ongoing work needed to ensure that everyone can live with dignity, fairness, and freedom.

In Beaumont, we are committed to fostering a community where everyone feels valued, safe, and respected. I encourage everyone to take a moment today to consider how we can all contribute to building a more equitable and compassionate world—both within our community and beyond.”
