Aspiring City Council members can submit nominations for the 2025 municipal election beginning January 2.

Municipalities across Alberta will hold local elections on October 20, 2025. In Beaumont, residents can run for Mayor or one of six Councillor positions.

All nominations must be filed before noon, September 22, 2025.

Changes to provincial legislation also require potential candidates to file a notice of intent to run (available on our website) before they can accept campaign contributions or spend money on their campaign.

Nominations and notices of intent to run can be filed at Beaumont City Hall, 5600 49 Street, on weekdays between 8:30 am and noon, and from 1 to 4:30 pm. Prospective candidates are encouraged to book an appointment in advance to avoid waits and to facilitate the efficient processing of their notice and nomination package.

Once your notice of intent to run is processed, your name will be added to the register of candidates on the City of Beaumont’s website.
