Boards & CommitteesMedia releasesProtective servicesRCMP Posted on: March 5, 2025 Beaumont residents interested in keeping the community safe and welcoming are encouraged to apply by March 31 to serve on the City of Beaumont’s new Municipal Policing Committee. In February, Council approved a bylaw establishing the committee with responsibility to: Develop a yearly plan of priorities and strategies for municipal policing in consultation with the Beaumont RCMP leadership, including a community safety plan. Represent the concerns and interests of Council and the public to the local RCMP. Report to Council on matters of public concerns. Oversee the administration of the policing agreement between the City of Beaumont and the Government of Canada, and Assist in selection of the Beaumont RCMP leadership when there is a vacancy. Six public member positions are available on the committee for staggered terms. Members must be residents of Beaumont and will be required to take an Oath of Office as detailed in the Police Act. People shortlisted for the committee will also be asked to submit an enhanced security clearance check.
