February’s crime prevention calendar focuses on theft for vehicles and theft of vehicles. Here are some tips to protect your vehicle and possessions: Always remember to lock your doors and roll up the windows. Avoid leaving keys in the ignition while running a quick errand inside a store, or warming up your vehicle during these cold winter months. If you have to leave valuables in your vehicle, hide them in the trunk or out of plain sight. Park in the garage if you have one. If you park outside, don’t leave your garage door opener inside your vehicle. Beaumont residents are encouraged to view the RCMP Crime Mapping tool HERE. The Beaumont RCMP encourages the public to report all criminal and suspicious activity. In case of an emergency, call 911.
