Posted on: January 31, 2023 For the week of January 23 through January 30, 2023, the Beaumont RCMP responded to 57 calls for service. Some of the calls for service included assault with weapon, breach of peace, break and enter, Child Welfare Act, criminal harassment, fail to stop or remain at accident scene, false alarms, fraud, Mental Health Act, mischief, robbery, suspicious person/ vehicle, theft, traffic collisions, and wellbeing checks. The Beaumont RCMP conducted 44 traffic stops, resulting in 11 violation tickets under the Traffic Safety Act. The RCMP town hall was successfully completed last week. It was a great time to get comments from the community members, and hear what their policing priorities are for 2023. February’s crime prevention calendar focuses on theft for vehicles and theft of vehicles. Here are some tips to protect your vehicle and possessions: Always remember to lock your doors and roll up the windows. Avoid leaving keys in the ignition while running a quick errand inside a store, or warming up your vehicle during these cold winter months. If you have to leave valuables in your vehicle, hide them in the trunk or out of plain sight. Park in the garage if you have one. If you park outside, don’t leave your garage door opener inside your vehicle. Beaumont residents are encouraged to view the RCMP Crime Mapping tool HERE.
