Posted on: July 4, 2022 For the week of June 27-July 3, 2022, the Beaumont RCMP responded to 71 calls for service. Some of the calls for service included 911 Act, abandoned vehicles, animal calls, assault, breach of peace, dangerous driving, disturbing the peace, false alarms, fraud, items lost/found, Mental Health Act, mischief, moving, other moving and non-moving traffic, other provincial statutes, other theft, roadside suspensions, suspicious person/vehicle/property, theft of truck, traffic collisions, Trespass Act, and wellbeing check.The Beaumont RCMP conducted 29 traffic stops, resulting in four charges and six warnings under the Traffic Safety Act.Beaumont RCMP members participated in the Canada Day celebrations at Four Seasons Park.Constable Delowski, our new Community Police/Victim Services member, attended in red serge and engaged the community members.The theme for the month of July is to reduce theft from your property. Keep an inventory of what is in your yard, and secure it nightly. With the good weather, you may have suspicious people looking through your yard and coming back during the night to steal your items.Some tips to reduce theft:Install cameras and sensor lights.Secure your items.Do a walk of the property at 9 p.m.Remove valuables and the garage remote from the vehicles.Lock vehicle doors.Turn on the exterior lights and alarm.Lock your garage door to the residence.Keep vehicle keys away from the main door.Beaumont residents are encouraged to view the RCMP Crime Mapping tool and can access the map through the City of Beaumont’s website at https://www.beaumont.ab.ca/532/Beaumont-RCMP-Crime-Map.
