Posted on: March 21, 2023 For the week of March 13 through March 19, 2023, the Beaumont RCMP responded to 50 calls for service. Some of the calls for service included animal calls, assistance to the public, breach of peace, criminal harassment, disturbing the peace, false alarms, Firearms Act, fraud, harassing communications, items lost/found, Mental Health Act, mischief, municipal bylaws, impaired operation, theft under $5,000, suspicious person/vehicle, traffic collisions, and uttering threats. The Beaumont RCMP conducted 22 traffic stops, resulting in four violation tickets and 17 warnings issued under the Traffic Safety Act. With March being National Fraud Prevention Month, Beaumont RCMP would like to remind you of these simple tips to help protect yourself: Never give out your personal and confidential information over the phone. Protect your online accounts (try using two-factor authentication) and banking information. Do not use the same passwords over and over again. Don’t be afraid to say no to someone or hang up the phone. Do your research – if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
