Posted on: December 6, 2022 For the week of November 28 through December 4, 2022, the Beaumont RCMP responded to 55 calls for service. Some of the calls for service included 911 Act, assault, controlled drugs and substances act, disturbing the peace, fail to stop or remain at accident scene, failure to attend court, identity fraud, Firearms Act, harassing communications items lost found, Mental Health Act, mischief, moving and other non-moving traffic, operation while impaired, other theft under $5,000, missing person, roadside suspension, suspicious person/vehicle, theft under or equal to $5,000 from a motor vehicle, traffic collisions, and wellbeing checks. The Beaumont RCMP conducted 72 traffic stops, resulting in three charges and 11 warnings under the Traffic Safety Act. The Beaumont RCMP also took part in National Impaired Driving Day on December 3 by conducting Checkstops, in partnerships with City of Beaumont’s Municipal Enforcement staff and Citizens on Patrol. National Impaired Driving Day is part of the National Safe Driving Week, run through Canada Safety Council. The crime prevention theme for December is mail theft. Some tips to keep your mail safe include: Check your mail regularly. Don’t send cash in the mail. Track shipments. Install video surveillance.
