Posted on: October 3, 2022 For the week of September 26 through October 2, 2022, the Beaumont RCMP responded to 79 calls for service. Some of the calls for service included 911 Act, assault, breach of peace, break and enter, false alarms, harassing communications, fraud greater than $5,000, firearms act, items lost found, Mental Health Act, mischief, moving and other non-moving traffic, operation while impaired, other theft under $5,000, missing person, roadside suspension, suspicious person/vehicle, traffic collisions, trafficking, uttering threats against a person, and wellbeing checks. The Beaumont RCMP conducted 56 traffic stops, resulting in 14 charges and 38 warnings under the Traffic Safety Act. October is B&E (Seasonal Property) Time The crime prevention calendar theme for the month of October reminds everyone to secure their seasonal property for the winter. Every year, the RCMP respond to numerous reports of break and enters at cottages and cabins throughout the winter months. Some tips to keep in mind are: remove all valuables from your cabin (including firearms) lock/secure all windows and doors, including all outbuildings make sure your property is well lit, with motion sensors, and use lights with timers consider installing a surveillance camera and alarm system Join the RCMP Community Advisory Committee The Beaumont RCMP Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is looking for two Beaumont residents to fill two volunteer positions: member at large and seniors’ representative. These are two-year term positions and provide an opportunity for input into the local RCMP policing goals. Working as a collaborative team, you may be required to make and or implement recommendations on community policing initiatives based on identified trends and issues. The CAC meets for two hours on the second Monday of the month during late afternoons, approximately six times per year.
