The City of Beaumont’s new Summer in the Park drop-in program kicks off July 4, providing kids ages six to 13 with exciting activities to keep them busy.

This program will be offered as a free-of-charge resource to families during weekdays from July 4 to Aug. 26. Program facilitators will be based primarily in Four Seasons Park and travel to different locations with new activities each week.

“As a parent of young kids myself, I know families are always looking for things to do during the summer. The Summer in the Park program is a fun way to get children out in our parks where they can spend time with friends and be active.” said Coun. Steven vanNieuwkerk. “Beaumont is a great place for families, with one in four people under the age of 15 and this is part of our commitment to supporting opportunities for recreation and culture for them.”

Activities will include games, sports and crafts. Summer in the Park will rotate through different parks in the city throughout July and August:

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, the program will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. near the concession in Four Seasons Park.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the program will travel to different parks and be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., beginning at Nature Park on July 5 and Martine Park on July 7.
Families can find the full schedule of locations and sign up for weekly email updates with the latest planned activities at <link>

Program leaders have completed security clearances and are trained in first aid. Children between three and six can also participate when accompanied by an adult.
