City Council’s strategic plan for 2022-2026, Building Our Tomorrow, Today, establishes a blueprint for Beaumont’s long-term growth.

“Beaumont is the fastest growing community in the Edmonton metropolitan region and we need to plan now to ensure we have the services and infrastructure to meet the needs of citizens over the next four years and beyond,” said Mayor Bill Daneluik. “This plan takes the concerns and ideas that we’ve heard from citizens, builds on the work of Council and City Administration during the last several years, and lays out a clear set of objectives and actions for your Council’s term.”

Though the actions in the plan are intended to be completed during City Council’s current term, they provide a foundation for the community to flourish well into the future, with an eye Beaumont’s long-term financial, environmental, and social sustainability.

“Ask most residents what they like about Beaumont and they’ll tell you that it’s a clean, safe, and friendly place to raise a family. We need to take care that we don’t lose those qualities even as our city continues to grow,” said Daneluik.

The plan was approved by City Council on Sept. 27 and focuses actions in five areas of aspiration:

  • An economically prosperous and financially sustainable community to last generations
  • Health care services that meet the needs of our growing population
  • Future-proof growth for a safe, inclusive, and vibrant community
  • Strong volunteer spirit and a warm, neighbourly feeling
  • Empowered citizens who connect and collaborate with civic government

Building Our Tomorrow, Today is available on the City of Beaumont’s website. Council and City Administration will review progress on the plan and report to the community annually.
