Winter is just around the corner, and that means it’s time to prepare our streets for snow removal and street sweeping! By taking a moment to clear any obstructions from your curb, you’re helping make safer roads for everyone in Beaumont. This small effort makes a big difference…

Why remove curb obstructions?

Obstructions like basketball nets, hockey nets and driveway ramps can complicate snow removal and street sweeping. Here’s how removing these items benefits our community:

  • Faster snow removal: Clear curb areas allow our snow-clearing teams to work efficiently, meaning quicker and safer road conditions for all.
  • Reduced damage: Avoid costly repairs by preventing damage to City equipment that can occur when navigating around obstacles.
  • Enhanced safety: Fewer obstructions mean less risk of accidents for both residents and our hardworking City staff.

Once the snow melts, our street sweeping team needs clear access to keep Beaumont looking its best. When curb areas are free from obstructions, they can effectively:

  • Keep streets clean: Thorough street sweeping helps maintain a tidy community.
  • Prevent clogs: Clear streets keep storm drains functional, reducing the risk of flooding.

What you need to do

Please remove all obstructions from roads and boulevards, including:

  • Driveway ramps
  • Portable and fixed basketball nets
  • Hockey nets
  • Any other items
