Beaumont’s Good Neighbour program recognizes individuals who contribute to a safe, connected and friendly community. We’re excited to showcase our latest award recipients– Arthur and Ophelia Traverse! This is what their neighbours, Heather and Martyn, had to say about their impact on the neighbourhood.

“Art and Ophelia are our incredible next-door neighbours, and we feel so lucky to live beside them. Not only are they the kindest and friendliest people we know, but Art goes above and beyond to help our community.

While many of us are at work, Art takes it upon himself to shovel and snow blow our cul-de-sac, ensuring the paths are clear for everyone. He also makes the extra effort to return green and grey carts to our driveways after garbage pickup. Always willing to lend a hand, he’s the kind of neighbour who looks out for everyone.

Art is also the eyes and ears of the neighbourhood. When services are being done at our homes while we’re away—whether it’s roof repairs, window cleaning, or siding work—he keeps an eye on things, gathers information, and even befriends the workers.

We couldn’t ask for better neighbours than Art and Ophelia. Their kindness, generosity, and community spirit make them more than deserving of the Good Neighbour Award.”
