City updatesHealth & SafetyPublic engagementTransit Posted on: April 18, 2024 As Beaumont continues to grow, ensuring the safety of our residents as they navigate through the city remains a top priority. We’re dedicated to finding innovative ways to enhance safety for everyone. From April 18 to 30, residents are invited to help shape a safer community by using the SafeStep Tool to suggest up to three crosswalks that could benefit from safety improvements. Here’s how to use the SafeStep Tool: First, indicate the number of crosswalks you’d like to identify for potential safety enhancements. You can suggest up to three crosswalks. Next, mark the location of each crosswalk you’ve suggested for safety improvements. Simply use the interactive map to find your chosen crosswalk and drop a pin to mark its location. Finally, for each of your suggested crosswalk locations, select the option that best describes the reason for your selection. Crosswalk safety improvements will be determined by a comprehensive assessment integrating traffic studies, traffic data analysis, and resident feedback.
