The annual operating budget directs funding so that the city can provide residents with services such as recreation, fire protection, policing, snow clearing and garbage collection. In many ways, it reflects the priorities and values of the community.

The city’s planning for next year’s budget is underway, and we’d like your feedback to help identify those priorities for Beaumont. We’ve launched an online budget tool that puts you in city council’s chairs, and asks you where to put the dollars. Alberta legislation prevents us from running a deficit, so an increase in funding for one area could mean reducing spending in another, or increasing revenue, such as taxes or fees.

The results you provide will help us identify the priorities for Beaumont as we head into the budget process for 2023 this fall.

Complete the budget simulation by September 22 by visiting www.beaumont.ab.ca/budget2023 (closed).
