Posted on: May 1, 2023 Overview The City of Beaumont is exploring the need for local transit within our community. While the City currently operates a commuter transit service into Edmonton, this feasibility study looks at local transit service within Beaumont, since the City does not currently offer a transit service within its boundaries. Local Transit Feasibility Study [pdf] Previous public engagement Public engagement for this study has happened in two phases. In the first engagement, City staff asked the public to share feedback on needs and desire for local public transit, as well as future/potential destinations and routes for local transit. A survey ran from September 23 to October 11, 2022, and residents gave in-person feedback at Taste of Beaumont. A summary of the first engagement results can be found within the Phase 1 What We Heard Report. The second engagement, from April 5-19, 2023, discussed what was heard from the community in the first engagement session, challenges and opportunities for local transit, and explained the four identified transit model delivery options.
