Posted on: April 13, 2023 On April 13, 2023, the Edmonton Metropolitan Transit Services Commission’s (EMTSC) Board of Directors voted unanimously to disestablish the Commission, effective May 31, 2023. Despite the decision, Board Members remain optimistic in the long run that regional collaboration will continue. Regional municipalities continue to work with one another to deliver results for the citizens of the Edmonton Metropolitan Region’s diverse rural, urban, and suburban communities. Beaumont’s commuter transit service to Edmonton continues to operate as usual. Outside of the EMTSC framework, the City continues to engage with our regional partners on ways to improve regional transit service.
