The City of Beaumont is developing an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) framework to help the City work towards meeting the needs of all residents.

As Beaumont grows, it continues to welcome residents of various racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, religions, abilities, and socio-economic statuses. It is the City’s commitment to provide an equitable and inclusive environment, where all residents feel a sense of belonging and have opportunities to thrive.

To achieve this, the City has partnered with LevelUp Planning to engage with residents and identify its current state of EDI, recognize EDI opportunities, and provide a future vision with recommendations and implementation strategies.

This project is currently in the engagement phase and LevelUp Planning is looking to connect with residents about what belonging in Beaumont means to them. LevelUp is hosting a drop-in engagement event, ‘Belonging in Beaumont’, on February 15 from 3 – 6 p.m. at the Bibliothèque de Beaumont Library (5700 49 Street). Residents are encouraged to drop by and share their thoughts on equity, diversity, and inclusion within the City of Beaumont. There will be opportunities to learn about the EDI framework, have informal conversations with the LevelUp Planning team, and interact with materials on display. For more information about Beaumont’s EDI framework and the ‘Belonging in Beaumont’ engagement event, visit the City of Beaumont website.
