The Centre-Ville Park is being redesigned to enhance its overall aesthetics, create a more welcoming gathering space and align with the Centre-Ville Area Redevelopment Plan. The project aims to revitalize the park and support local businesses, all while providing a vibrant downtown space for residents and visitors to enjoy.
We understand the importance of the park to the community. While there may be temporary closures or restricted access during certain phases of construction, we will make every effort to minimize disruptions and ensure that the park resumes accessibility as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this period.
The concept design for Centre-Ville Park includes several enhancements, such as a design theme similar to the 50th streetscape, shrubs and greenery, a grassed area for events and community programming, gravel walkways, a plaza with seating and a new location for the Karma Pantry and Library Box. These additions will transform the park into a more attractive and functional space for residents and visitors alike.
While the concept design doesn’t specifically outline designated play areas, the grassed area and open spaces will provide ample room for children to play and engage in various activities.
The project aims to retain some parking spaces along the south boundary of the park, including two accessible parking spots. However, please note that there may be temporary adjustments to parking arrangements during the construction phase. We will strive to communicate any changes or alternative parking options to minimize inconvenience.
We recognize these resources are important to our community therefore, both the Karma Pantry and Library Box will remain in Centre-Ville Park. These resources will simply be found in a new location within the park.
