Dansereau Landing frequently asked questions

Beaumont’s Land Use Bylaw encourages a range of housing options to support a diverse, vibrant community and prosperous local economy. Dansereau Landing consists of 54 apartment residences in a four-storey building, with retail/commercial space and a daycare on the main floor.

The development was approved on October 10, 2024 and is consistent with the Integrated Neighbourhood land use district in the Land Use Bylaw. An Integrated Neighbourhood land use district supports a variety of housing options for residents with walkable access to local commercial amenities and businesses in the community. The development also aligns with the Dansereau Meadows Outline Plan [pdf] approved by Council in 2017. Download and review the approved development [pdf].

Public notification was not required, as the development includes permitted uses and there were no variances.

Yes, traffic safety was considered. Dansereau Way/65 Street is a minor collector road designed to handle high traffic volumes and is adequate for the neighbourhood.

The development met the parking requirements in the Land Use Bylaw at the time the project was approved in October 2024. In addition, street parking is available in front of the building. While Council adjusted parking requirements in the Land Use Bylaw in January 2025, the changes do not apply retroactively.

In 2019 a development permit was approved for a three-storey mixed use building on one of the two lots along Dansereau Way identified for mixed use development. The project did not proceed, and a new application was received on April 12, 2024 to develop a single four-storey building over both parcels. The previous approval is no longer valid.
