Thank you for your understanding during the repair process. We’re happy to report that this issue had minimal impacts on water availability for residents or businesses. A leak has been detected in the water supply line from Edmonton to Beaumont, which is affecting water delivery to our area. An investigation is currently underway to determine the necessary repairs. As a result, the City of Beaumont is implementing water use restrictions for City operations only, to help manage the situation. There are no water restrictions for residents or businesses and no impact on the quality of drinking water. Here’s what the City is doing: Pausing non-essential water use in City operations, like fleet vehicle washing and flushing water mains. Suspending the flooding of outdoor rinks. Our teams are monitoring the rink surfaces to maintain safety while conserving water. Monitoring the situation closely and staying in contact with the Water Commission as the investigation proceeds. We encourage residents to be mindful of water use where possible as every drop counts. We’ll provide updates as new information becomes available. Thank you for your cooperation!
